One of the most intriguing games this weekend is the clash between newly promoted Brighton and Manchester City. The top Premier League clubs are all in the spotlight on opening day and by playing one of the promoted teams, even more pressure will be on Manchester City. As much as City have the quality to beat Brighton in this game, this is probably the least fancied game they would have wanted on opening day.
The stadium is sure to be buzzing for this one and Brighton’s first step in the Premier League comes against the title favourites. The fans will give the team their full backing, no one fancies Brighton to win so they can play without fear and with a chance to make themselves heroes at their club.
One thing Brighton do have in them is goals, and with a full crowd cheering them on, I can see them scoring against Manchester City, who often look a little shaky. I can actually see a lot of goals in this one, with the fire power than Manchester City hold themselves, so this should be great for the neutrals.
On any other day during the season, I would be backing a Manchester City victory in this one, but on the opening day things are different. This is a trip that City won’t fancy themselves and a great opportunity for Brighton to announce their arrival in the Premier League with a bang.
I don’t quite think Brighton have enough to win this game, but I think they are capable of getting a draw from it and with plenty of goals forecast I could see a 2-2 or even a 3-3 draw in this game.
It will be a great day for the fans of Brighton football club, and maybe even with a result to match.
